Austech Provide Polyboard Enviro Insulation to Wollongong's Living Building Project.


Austech has worked closely and proudly with Danrae Water Proofing on Australia’s First Living Building Project. The University of Wollongong’s Sustainable Building Research Centre is currently under construction, and is due to being completed by mid-2013. The Living Building Challenge comprises seven performance areas; water, energy, health, materials, equity and beauty. Austech provided more than 500sqm2 of Polyboard Enviro 300, in both the 50mm and 75mm thickness, for rooftop and plaza deck insulation.


The 2,600 sqm2 building is set to produce more energy per year than it consumes, via a rooftop photovoltaic (solar) panels along with a wind turbine. Austech’s Polyboard Enviro 300 is a zero Ozone Depletion Potential, (meaning it releases no chemicals when manufactured) Green Star compliant extruded Polystyrene making it the perfect match for the Living Building Project.
